As part of his family's industrial activities, Xavier Toulemonde created a mail order service for knitting wool produced in the Toulemonde-Destombes family spinning mill.
He created the 3 Suisses trade name and began business in Belgium and the Netherlands.
Work resumed after the war and 3 Suisses knitting wool sales expanded to new markets, in Germany and Austria, via mail order or shops depending on the clientele.
